Dr. Avi Weisfogel is the owner of the International Academy of Sleep and a former dentist. While working as a dentist in Union, New Jersey, Dr. Weisfogel saw how prevalent and devastating sleep disorders were for his patients.
Dr. Weisfogel graduated from dental school in 1998 and was a practicing dentist for over 15 years. This time working as a dentist allowed Avi to come into contact with patients suffering from sleep apnea and other sleep related disorders. He knew this is where he wanted to direcet his medical efforts.
After conducting years of research towards sleep apnea and how it can be screened for, diagnosed, and cured, Dr. Weisfogel now strives to share his knowledge with others and raise awareness for a sleep disorder that tens of thousands of Americans suffer from.
Over the past 5 years, Dr. Avi Weisfogel has worked with over 200 hundred dentists and physicians, teaching them how to properly identify and treat different cases of sleep apnea.
The International Academy of Sleep has gained success by training dentists and other physicians how to properly diagnose and treat various forms of sleep apnea.
Outside of work, Dr. Avi Weisfogel is a big sports fan. He loves baseball, basketball, hockey, and football. Whenever he finds the time, Avi tries to catch a game on the TV or in person. During games, Avi has made a tradition of texting with both his father and his son, giving play-by-plays and making comments on what’s happening.
Dr. Avi Weisfogel is also a big skier. Most years, Avi spends at least 20 days out on the slopes with his family. He’s been skiing since he was 4 and was often taken to Snowmass, Colorado, as a child. It was here that Avi developed a love for the slopes and the excitement of racing down the hill. While Avi’s favorite skiing location is Aspen, he spends as lot of time in Killington, Vermont. There’s something about being on a mountain by yourself that really puts life into perspective for Avi.
